Versions has finally made it out of beta. It's a very intuitive GUI for managing subversion repositories and working copies. We've been using this application for a long while now, and found it to be user friendly and suitable for designers and developers alike. Recommended!

Pretty great software, too

Pretty great software, too bad I got very used to it being free over the last few months. ;)

Really helpful

I finally got fed up with Microsoft and switched to Mac a few weeks back and I was definitely missing Tortoise until I found this. It's definitely still got some kinks to work out, but in general it works really well.

Cornerstone

We decided on Cornerstone instead of Versions. They're both good and I like Versions' river-of-news timeline view but everything else in Cornerstone seemed better to us, namely:

  • file comparison tools are built-in
  • repositories can be searched by filename or Subversion user
  • more intuitive filters for viewing files and directories (Versions is either "All" or "Changed")
  • support for more than one issue tracker per repository
  • a multi-window interface (which is disabled by default for some reason)
  • drag-and-drop works to and from the Finder (or Path Finder, as it were).
  • scripts can be run after a successful commit making it easier to deploy, notify via IM, etc. easier
  • support for Subversion 1.4 and 1.5 (instead of 1.4 or 1.5)

It was also cheaper in my case because the Cornerstone license permits two computers per individual and Versions' license does not.
